Mustio to Host Marcellus Shale Informational Meeting, June 1
5/26/2010

State Representative Mark Mustio (R-Allegheny) will host a Marcellus Shale Informational Meeting on Tuesday, June 1, in the Moon Senior High School Auditorium beginning at 6:30 p.m.

“As one of the original co-sponsors of the EnergizePA legislation to expand natural gas drilling across 390,000 additional acres of state forest land, I know that the safe extraction of Marcellus Shale natural gas has the potential to provide an affordable new source of energy and thousands of jobs all across Pennsylvania for years to come,” said Mustio.   “I am holding this meeting to ensure that residents in my district are as informed as possible on the entire Marcellus Shale development process.   This is the perfect opportunity to get all your questions answered by the experts.”

Topics of discussion will include the latest information on infrastructure components, current natural gas trends, legal issues, land and water use, treatment, disposal methods and much more.

Representatives from the Marcellus Shale Coalition, National Association of Royalty Owners

Penn State Cooperative Extension, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection

PSU, the Dickenson School of Law, Atlas Resources LLC, Chesapeake Energy and Equitable Gas will be among the featured presenters.
